On Sunday night, the body of a little Ormond Beach kid at the heart of a Missing Child Alert was discovered.
Waylon Childs, age 4, was reported missing from the vicinity of Fleming Avenue at approximately 2:00 p.m., prompting the Florida Department of Law Enforcement to issue an alert for him.
According to Ormond Beach Police, Waylon vanished when his father was at a park with him and his two younger siblings.

Then, authorities reported that they had found Waylon’s body close to the park where he had vanished at approximately 9:02 p.m.
“This is a heartbreaking tragedy, and our hearts are with Waylon’s family during this unimaginable loss,” Ormond Beach Police Chief Jesse Godfrey stated. “We would like to thank the community, and all the agencies involved for their support and efforts during this search. The Ormond Beach Police Department remains committed to standing with the family and our community in the days ahead.”
