Jacksonville Police Respond to Lane Avenue Shooting After Victim's Plea for Assistance

According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, a guy was shot in the stomach on Saturday night and afterwards transported to the hospital for treatment.

Witnesses told the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office that they heard gunfire at approximately 7 p.m. at the Riverbank Apartments, which are located on Lane Avenue South.

The man, who was in his late 20s, was reportedly going through the complex begging for assistance after he had been shot, as reported by the police.

It is not quite apparent whether or not the shooting took place inside one of the apartments.

He was rushed to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening; but, due to the fact that he was undergoing surgery, the police were unable to talk with him in order to acquire information about the incident.

There is no information that could be considered suspicious accessible.
