On Tuesday, a man was given a 25-year prison sentence following a law enforcement operation that exposed him as the leader of a drug-trafficking group selling drugs in local Florida counties, as stated in a press release.

Kevin Choute faced charges of selling cocaine and heroin in Gadsden and Leon counties.

Last month, he was convicted of offenses including trafficking heroin over 28 grams, trafficking cocaine over 400 grams, conspiracy to traffic cocaine over 400 grams, and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

In addition to the 25-year prison term, he received 10 years of probation.

The investigation unveiled Choute’s regular travels to California for purchasing cocaine and heroin from drug suppliers. A search of his home yielded three kilograms of cocaine and around 714 grams of heroin.

The investigation involved wiretap interceptions and physical surveillance.

Choute’s case was part of Operation No Warning, a law enforcement initiative that targeted 27 suspected drug dealers in Gadsden and Leon Counties.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement, Attorney General Moody’s OSP, Leon County Sheriff’s Office, Florida Highway Patrol, and Tallahassee Police Department collaborated in the investigation. Prosecutors Jae Hee Kim and Guillermo Vallejo handled the case.
