FORT PIERCE, Fla. — After being involved in a collision with an SUV in Fort Pierce, a motorcyclist sustained life-threatening injuries.
The Fort Pierce Police Department sent officers to the area at 4100 South U.S. Highway 1 on Thursday shortly before 8 o’clock in the evening in response to a report of a collision between a motorcycle and an SUV.
The first investigation that was carried out by the cops on the site found that the SUV, which was being driven by a guy who was 54 years old, was moving in the lane on the highway that was designated for continuous left turns. The guy, who was 26 years old at the time, was traveling in the other direction on the highway while riding his motorbike in the inside lane.
According to the police report, the sports utility vehicle (SUV) made an effort to turn left into a parking lot, but it did not give the motorcyclist the right of way. After that, the motorcyclist ran into the passenger door of the SUV and caused a collision.
According to the investigators, both the driver of the SUV and the rider were taken to HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital. They were transferred there by St. Lucie County Fire Rescue. The condition of the motorcyclist was described as being life-threatening.
