The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is now on the way to the 7000 block of Vermillion Street, where there was reportedly a gunshot.
According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a call at a nearby hospital at six o’clock on Thursday evening reporting two persons who had been shot.
An adult male and adult female, both in their 20s, drove themselves to the hospital while suffering from gunshot wounds to the upper body that was not considered to be life-threatening.
Officers have said that the early inquiry has shown that the victims were in the vicinity of 7300 Vermilion St. parked near a local park when an unknown individual approached the car. This information was discovered, according to the officers, during the preliminary investigation.
After that, the individual made an effort to steal the vehicle before opening fire on it.
Another individual was sitting in the backseat of the car, however, they were spared by the gunshot when it was fired.
The victims ran away from the scene and drove themselves to the hospital after they were injured.
At this point, there is very little information available on the suspect, other than the fact that the suspect was dressed all in black.
The investigation into the robbery, which is now being carried out by investigators who are present at the site, is continuing.
According to the investigators, it seems that the crime was committed at random. The fact that the suspect opted to fire inside the vehicle suggests that he may have been planning to commit a crime of opportunity in the form of carjacking.
