Motorcycle Accident Claims Life of Massachusetts Business Owner in Florida

SOUTHWICK, Mass. – A man from Massachusetts who also owned a business has passed away after a motorcycle accident involving a suspected drunk driver in Florida.

As reported by the Florida Highway Patrol, a 51-year-old individual named Richard Daviau from Granby was riding his motorcycle on Route 41 in Hillsborough County when another vehicle crashed into the back of his motorcycle.

Due to this collision, Daviau was thrown off his motorcycle and tragically lost his life. The driver of the other vehicle, who is only identified as a 26-year-old man from Tampa, Florida, was taken into custody for driving while under the influence and was found to not possess a valid driver’s license.

This week, Prim3 St3akhous3, a restaurant located in Southwick, shared a post on social media announcing the passing of their sibling. The restaurant is co-owned by Todd, Deborah, and Richard, which is symbolized by the use of “3” in its name.

According to Todd and Deborah Daviau, “Richard was a man who approached life with great passion. He was a husband, son, father, and friend, and his presence could light up any room. As our younger brother, his absence has left an irreplaceable void in our hearts.”

The President of the motorcycle association to which Richard belonged has established a GoFundMe page to support his family in this time of loss.
