The investigation into the double killing that occurred in Miami continues with the search for culprit.

The bodies of Antoine Joe Jr., age 26, former athlete at St. Thomas University, and Tyler Bradley Royal, age 24, his lifelong friend, were found shot inside vehicle in Miami’s Liberty City on Saturday.

Joe Jr. was an athlete at St. Thomas University. Authorities are uncertain whether this was a deliberate attack or a random incident. Joe Jr. was widely recognized for his passion for basketball and his modest demeanor.

After finishing his undergraduate degree at St. Thomas with honors, he had been looking forward to beginning his studies for Master’s degree there.

The devastating news of his passing has left both his family and the community of the institution in state of deep sadness.

Joe Jr. will be recognized and honored by St. Thomas University during both of their upcoming home football and basketball games.

In the meantime, the authorities are offering prize that exceeds $9,000 for any information that could lead to an arrest being made.

People who have information that could be helpful in the investigation are urged to get in touch with either the MiamDade Crime Stoppers or the Miami Police Department.
