We’ll take you on a tour of Alabama’s top 7 doughnut shops in this post. These doughnut shops will entice you to return to Alabama time and time again—from the city to the countryside, from the beach to the mountains. Prepare to swoon over these amazing doughnuts while you grab a cup of coffee.
City Donut
Step into City Donut in Orange Beach, Alabama, and inhale the freshest aromas of freshly cooked cake and yeast doughnuts every morning. Make sure to arrive early because the variety varies every day depending on what’s in season and what inspires us.
While you’re at it, take advantage of the full espresso and coffee bar. Not able to attend in the morning? Not an issue. Along with soft serve ice cream, coffee, and doughnuts, stop by after 3 p.m. for frozen goodies.
Bigfoot’s Little Donuts
We assure you that obtaining a Bigfoot’s Little Donut is worthwhile, even if it may seem as challenging as capturing Bigfoot. Bigfoot’s is not your typical restaurant. Situated in an abandoned train car, the baker is only open from Thursday to Saturday.
Offering “gourmet mini-doughnuts,” the menu is varied and includes items like funnel cake doughnuts, chocolate and cream cheese doughnuts, honey and cinnamon sugar doughnuts, and many more. Taste the Flapjack Donuts from Biggy’s, especially the maple syrup variety. Remember to enquire about any specials.
WOW Donuts
One of the finest reasons for Huntsville residents to venture to Madison is WOW Donuts, which is situated between chain pizza restaurants and smaller businesses, along with Valentina’s Pizzeria & Wine Bar.
WOW’s has a nice, compact environment with lots of natural light, and their selection of coffee drinks is limited yet effective.

Donuts D-Lite
If you ask someone in a group what their favorite doughnut from Alabama is, Donuts D-Lite is bound to come up. And for good reason—Donuts D-Lite embodies every ideal you might hope for in a doughnut business.
If you walk in, the proprietor most likely knows your name, what you ordered, and your family’s background. It’s the ideal spot to start the day because it’s warm and inviting.
And this has turned into one of the story’s recurring themes, but you have to arrive early. Once more, they sell out quickly, so it’s worth the investment. If you go to bed at three in the morning, get your doughnuts a few hours later. When doughnuts are involved, sleep becomes irrelevant.

Cothran’s Bakery
You can’t miss the huge doughnut-shaped signage outside Cothran’s Gadsden site, which likely draws in a lot of tourists. Furthermore, I can assure you that relatively few people experience disappointment.
Up until the 1990s, Cothran’s Bakery was a Shipley’s Do-Nuts franchise. However, the Cothran family became independent and changed the name on the sign to reflect their own name.
Since then, it has grown to be a big part of the community and has gained a lot of followers; in fact, Cothran’s is constantly brought up when the topic of doughnuts comes up.

Pop has almost ten years of experience in the industry. This shop makes it easy to understand why doughnut shops are important local businesses. On a Thursday morning, the store was a little busy when we went to see Pop.
