A young woman, aged 18, apprehended for trying to hire a hitman to murder her 3-year-old son

A shocking and disturbing incident has come to the limelight, an 18-year-old mother named Jazmin Paez has been arrested by the police on Tuesday after she tried to hire a hitman to murder her own 3-year-old son.

The afflicting details came to light when Jazmin filled out a form on a parody hit-for-hire website. But in reality, the site was actually designed to thwart real murder solicitations,” as per a Miami- Dade Affidavit.

The website’s operator, upon receiving the service request targeting Paez’s son, immediately alerted the authorities, police say. Thereafter, they verified the authenticity of the information and subsequently took swift actions that led to Paez’s arrest on Tuesday night- according to CNN.

According to the court reports, she has been charged with first-degree solicitations of murder and third-degree using a communications device. She secured legal representation through the Miami-Dade Public Defender’s Office, as she appeared in court on Wednesday.

The accused used a false identity to submit the request on the website and demanded ‘her child be taken far away and “possibly be killed” as soon as possible, according to the affidavit. She set Thursday as the deadline for the completion of the crime.

Fortunately, the officials tracked her down by using the IP Address and phone number used on the website, which led them to the 3-year-old living with his grandmother.

The grandmother soon recognized her daughter’s phone number and also confirmed the identity of her grandson. She also disclosed that Jazmin moved out of the house in May, but still contacted her son daily over the phone.

In order to collect evidence against Paez, a detective assumed the role of hired hitman and established contact with her by engaging in the text message conversations, with the number she provided. In the mid of the conversation, Paez confirmed the original request and agreed to pay $3,000 for the job, police said.

She was immediately taken into custody and questioned at the Miami-Dade Police Department, where she admitted her efforts to orchestrate her son’s murder. She also disclosed that the reason behind her heinous plan was her romantic relationship with a boy who left her because of the child. He broke up with Paez for this reason and she thought she will be able to win back their affection.

This appalling incident has left the community in shock and raised concerns for mental health.
