Police said that a man who conspired with a pal to shoot up a house in North Miami Beach was shot by his co-conspirator.
Steeve Jean-Charles, 22, of North Miami, was taken into custody by authorities following his release from HCA Florida Aventura Hospital on Thursday. He is accused of shooting or hurling a lethal missile, felony in possession of a handgun, and attempted murder.
According to North Miami Beach police, the incident occurred at a residence in the 1300 block of Northeast 153rd Street on Monday shortly after 4:22 a.m.
According to the police, there were other persons inside, but Jean-Charles was the only one who would be shot.
According to an arrest report, he fled after being wounded and ended up at a residence in North Miami’s 1400 block of Northeast 136th Street, where police were called approximately ten minutes after the initial incident for a male who had been shot in the chest.
Jean-Charles indicated he had no idea where the shooting had taken place, according to the police. He then reported that a man who had approached him for money at a petrol station in northwest Miami-Dade shot him in the back while he was still in the hospital.
Police claimed to have examined the petrol station’s video and discovered no indication that Jean-Charles was present.
Then, according to the authorities, he altered his account, putting himself at the location of the shooting at the residence in North Miami Beach. He told that he and his friend had gone there to meet two women when “two unknown Black males dressed in black” appeared “and began going after them.”

Whether the other individual has been identified or taken into custody has not been disclosed by the authorities.
As of early Friday evening, Jean-Charles was being held without bond at the Turner Guilford Knight Center.
