Armored Truck Ambushed During ATM Maintenance in Jacksonville

Two people who were clothed in all black and wore masks and gloves robbed employees of the Alive Credit Union who were servicing an automated teller machine (ATM) on Lenox Avenue in Jacksonville.

The suspects were armed with rifles during the robbery, which took place on Monday morning.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office responded to the robbery at around 7:45 a.m. The assailants escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash and fled in a dark-colored, possibly black, sedan, potentially a Toyota Camry, heading westbound on Lenox Avenue.

Fortunately, there were no reported injuries during the incident.

As part of their investigation, the Jacksonville Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) are collaborating to conduct interviews and review CCTV material.
