Arrest Made in Orlando Shooting Incident with One Fatality, Three Injured

A man has been arrested after a shooting in Orlando resulted in three people being hurt and one person losing their life.

The man in custody, Delray Duncan Jr., had a prior conviction for assaulting a staff member at a juvenile detention center in 2018. He served 196 days in jail for this offense.

In March 2020, Duncan Jr. was apprehended again, this time for robbery with a firearm, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, being in possession of a firearm as a previously convicted felon, and third-degree grand theft.

Meanwhile, the Orlando police are still seeking others linked to the shooting Duncan was allegedly involved in on Friday.

The incident occurred at approximately 2:30 p.m. at an apartment complex on Mercy Drive. Strangely, each victim was discovered in a different location.

The first victim was found at the apartment complex and taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center in critical condition.

While the police were at the complex, they received information about a potential suspect vehicle that had fled the scene. This led to a pursuit that concluded on Old Winter Garden Road and Duncan Place.

A black Chevy sedan was later found cordoned off with crime scene tape, showing significant damage to the front and what seemed to be blood outside of it. This is where the second gunshot victim was discovered and transported to the hospital.

The third victim was brought to ORMC, and the fourth victim was located at Advent South.

Macayla Queen Patterson, aged 22, was declared deceased at the hospital. The other three victims have injuries that are not considered life-threatening.

The investigation is still in progress.
