Officials said on Saturday that a car that collided with a house in Orange County over the weekend was taken to the hospital after the impact released a swarm of bees that stung the driver.

Although there are very little details and it’s unclear how the motorist ended up slamming into the house, the Buena Park Police Department posted on Instagram that officers arrived shortly after 12 p.m. on August 10 to investigate the collision.

Bees are visible swarming over the car’s front end in the wake of the collision, which struck the house’s corner and shattered a window.

“Nobody was injured in as a result of the collision, but a beehive was also damaged and the occupants were not pleased,” police stated. “They savagely attacked the driver.”

After being called, medical workers from the Orange County Fire Authority drove the motorist to the hospital so that he could receive treatment for several stings.

Authorities claimed that by sprinkling water and soap over the car and the hive, firefighters “cooled the bees off.”

It’s unknown who was inside the house when the car struck it and whether the driver will be prosecuted for the collision.
