Urgent Search for 17-Year-Old Girl with Severe Autism Family and Police Rally Together

Authorities declared on Sunday that the family of a 17-year-old girl who has been diagnosed with severe autism, along with detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department, are requesting the public for assistance in finding the adolescent.

From the LAPD missing persons alert, it was reported that Sara Nicole Castillo was last seen by family on August 9 in the vicinity of the 5400 block of Zelzah Avenue.

It was discovered that Castillo was no longer inside the family’s house, therefore at roughly two in the morning on August 10, the missing person was reported.

The 17-year-old, according to police, texted her father later that day to let him know that she had gone outside for some fresh air but was disoriented and couldn’t find her way home.

The girl is described as a 5 feet 7 inch, approximately 113-pound Hispanic female with brown eyes and black hair. When last seen, she was sporting a gray top with a floral pattern, gray shorts, and pink sandals.

According to authorities, Castillo is new to Los Angeles and is not familiar with the area.
