Following a tragic bike accident in Connecticut earlier this week, fiery British celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay revealed a different side of himself on Saturday in a video that he shared on X.

Ramsay, who is renowned for his ferocious intensity in the kitchen, seems more reserved in the video when discussing the importance of wearing a helmet when cycling. He started the video by saying he had a very important message to convey and how much he loved triathlons, Iron Man races, and cycling.

“This week, unfortunately, I had a really bad accident, and it really shook me. Honestly, I’m lucky to be here,” Ramsay stated on X. “Now, from those incredible trauma surgeons, doctors and nurses in the hospital that looked after me this week, they were amazing, but honestly, you’ve got to wear a helmet. I don’t care how short the journey is. I don’t care (about) the fact that these helmets cost money; they’re crucial. Even with kids, on a short journey, they’ve got to wear a helmet.”

In his X post, Ramsay expressed gratitude to the personnel at Lawrence + Memorial Hospital in New London, however he did not specify the location of the collision. Then he displayed his severely contused upper body.

“Now, I’m lucky to be standing here. I’m in pain. It’s been a brutal week, and I’m sort of getting through it, but I cannot tell you the importance of wearing a helmet,” Ramsay stated on X.

Ramsay said, “This weekend is massive,” as he concluded the video.

Happy Father’s Day, he said, wishing new, middle-aged, and elderly fathers alike. He also restated the reasons why riders should always wear helmets.

“Please, please, please, please wear a helmet because if I didn’t, honestly, I wouldn’t be here now. Happy Father’s Day,” Ramsey stated.

Ramsay said he did not get any serious injuries or break any bones in an Instagram post on Saturday.

“But I am a bit bruised up looking like a purple potato,” he stated.

One of the most well-known and significant chefs in the world, Ramsay is praised globally for hosting popular television shows including “Hell’s Kitchen,” “Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares,” “MasterChef,” and “Next Level Chef,” to mention a few.

In 1997, he established the restaurant chain Gordon Ramsay Restaurants, which has received 17 Michelin stars for culinary excellence.
