MARTIN COUNTY, Fla. — Because of a fire in the area, South Fork High School in Martin County is canceling a number of events and programs on Tuesday.

All home sports games, practices, after-school tutoring, club meetings, and other events that were supposed to happen on campus Tuesday afternoon and evening have been canceled, the school said on Facebook.

“All away games and matches will go on as planned,” the school wrote.

Choice Family Night for rising eighth-graders and their families at South Fork High School has been moved to April 11.

Since the weekend, crews from Martin County Fire Rescue and the Florida Forest Service have been putting out a brush fire near the high school and the Foxwood neighborhood.

Because of the fire threat, South Fork High School was closed on Monday, but it reopened on Tuesday.
