Authorities in Texas are searching for a woman who, while posing as a doctor, is accused of seriously damaging a patient’s teeth by inserting a veneer into their mouth without first taking a mold.

According to a probable cause statement released by the Houston Police Department, Juanetta Solomon, 41, is charged with practicing dentistry without a license.

The victim said police she saw a video on TikTok from the account “Tha_Toothly_Houston” late in March when she was browsing the platform.

The affidavit stated that she was told to schedule an appointment with I Smilez Cosmetic Designz when she inquired about scheduling a dental appointment.

The victim sent four pictures of herself smiling as well as pictures of her front, left, and right mouth to the “dentist.” According to police, the “dentist” provided the woman an estimate for $1,000 to replace eight front and eight bottom teeth, plus $350 for a bridge.

According to the lawsuit, the patient visited the purported dental office on Westpark Drive on Houston’s westside on March 30 for a lady who went by the name “Nikki Calloway.” She subsequently recognized Calloway as Solomon.

Police stated that Solomon “applied the composite veneers and bridge, using a lot of pressure and chemicals that made her so dizzy that she had to ask the defendant to stop and give her a break” rather than taking a mold of her teeth or mouth.

After that, Solomon is said to have shaped the material inserted into the teeth using instruments called a “drill and file.”

“Complainant stated she had trouble closing her motu and asked defendant to make them thinner because they are too big and uncomfortable,” the affidavit stated.

Police reported that the victim experienced difficulty sleeping in the following days due to oral pain. She allegedly called Solomon a week or so later, requesting assistance since her lips was bleeding. She lost a tooth as well. Solomon suggested that she schedule another session, but the victim chose to call the police instead.

According to the affidavit, detectives verified with the Texas Board of Dental Examiners’ director of investigations that Solomon is not licensed to practice dentistry and is neither a hygienist nor an assistant.

On August 30, detectives found Solomon, the proprietor of I Smilez Cosmetic Designz, and issued an arrest warrant.

Solomon is on Crime Stoppers of Houston’s most recent Fugitive Friday list and has not yet been taken into custody. For further information, please give 713-222-8477 a call.
