Family Horror: Son Accused of Killing Mother, Body Found in Bathtub

According to authorities, a guy who shared a house with his mother is accused of killing her and disposing of her body in the bathtub.

The Maryland State Police have charged 48-year-old Jeremy Gentry of Fruitland, Maryland, with first and second degree murder, first and second degree assault, and reckless endangerment after discovering 68-year-old Beatrice Kay Gentry dead inside their home on the 200 block of Sand Castle Boulevard.

The Maryland State Police said that just before 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, the Fruitland Police Department and emergency medical services were called to the home in reference to a report of “an unconscious woman.” This was when police were first made aware of the event.

“Once they entered the home, police and EMS personnel located an unresponsive woman in the bathtub,” authorities stated. “EMS personnel pronounced her deceased on the scene. The Maryland State Police Homicide Unit was subsequently requested by the Fruitland Police Department to assume the investigation.”

Police added that the dead was later identified as Beatrice Kay Gentry, who lived in the house with her son, Jeremy Gentry.

The results of the autopsy will determine Gentry’s cause of death and manner of passing away; the police have not revealed any potential motivation for her purported murder.

“Maryland State Police Forensic Crime Scene Technicians processed the scene for evidence,” authorities stated. “Further investigative efforts revealed Jeremy Gentry as the suspect. Subsequent consultation with the Wicomico County State’s Attorney’s Office led to State Police investigators obtaining an arrest warrant for Jeremy Gentry.”

Gentry was apprehended without any problems on Monday morning, according to the police.

While the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office, Snow Hill Police Department, and Fruitland Police Department investigate the alleged murder, Gentry is presently awaiting a bond hearing before a Wicomico County District Court Commissioner.

The inquiry into Gentry’s passing is still going strong.
