Two people were killed and two adolescents were injured in a domestic disturbance event on Monday night on the south side of Indianapolis. The incident is being looked into by Indianapolis metro police.
According to reports, there was a domestic incident involving a weapon in the 600 block of Watersonway Circle around 9:04 p.m., prompting the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department to dispatch officers.
Officers heard several gunshots while they were traveling. According to IMPD, dispatch is currently speaking with the caller on the phone.
When the officers arrived, according to IMPD, they were able to enter the house and discovered an adult male and female with gunshot wounds in the backyard. On the spot, both were declared dead.
According to IMPD, officers then discovered two teens inside the house who were also suffering from gunshot wounds. After being taken to local hospitals, one was reported as very ill while the other was in stable condition.
The incident is currently being looked at as a possible murder-suicide.
“First and foremost I want to think about these teenagers,” IMPD Public Information Officer Tommy Thompson stated. “This is just tragic for them. It’s horrific for the community and it’s not something anyone would expect.”

The IMPD asked the public to stay away from the area since detectives “will be in the area with a large presence for an ongoing investigation” in a post on X, the former name of Twitter.
Victim’s Assistance and the IMPD Drone Unit were also confirmed to be there in the social media post.
Although the victims’ identities are still being investigated, Thompson stated on Monday night that the individual might have previously worked as a reserve police officer.
The IMPD attested to the fact that investigators had discovered a gun nearby.
