Sunday in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, a thirteen-year-old girl was shot and murdered. Police in Harrisburg responded to a report of gunfire about 12:15 a.m., according to a news release from the department.
The officers were sent to the area of South 19th and Derry streets. It was discovered by the officers that “a large number of individuals in the area.”
The 13-year-old girl was shot and transferred to a nearby hospital, according to the police, who said they quickly learnt of this. Her procedure was hurried, but she passed away afterwards.
Investigators from the police are looking into the shooting. It’s unclear what caused the incident to occur, whether any suspects have been identified, or whether any arrests have been made. The name of the victim is yet unknown.

“Honestly, I’m infuriated. There are absolutely no words that can justify the fact that once again, our community is mourning the loss of one of our own due to gun violence,” Dent wrote.
