On Sunday morning, it is reported that the 3-month-old infant who was the subject of an investigation by Indiana authorities went missing was discovered dead within a sealed bucket.
According to a news outlet, the boy’s father, 28-year-old Eliasard Moneus, is now thought to be a person of interest in his death. According to documents from the Tippecanoe County Jail, Moneus is being jailed on suspicion of attempted murder and domestic abuse.
A domestic violence incident involving Moneus’ wife prompted Lafayette Police Department officers to respond to a hospital on Saturday at noon, according to an arrest affidavit that the station was able to obtain.
Jacob Moneus, their 3-month-old boy, was allegedly taken away by her husband, who had beaten her with a tire iron or wrench, according to what she told police. The event apparently resulted in a cracked skull for the wife.
Because of this, authorities released a Silver Alert for Jacob, which included a photo and description of the young man and stated that he might be in danger.
According to the affidavit, when police arrived at the house, they discovered blood splatter and other signs that an assault had occurred, but they were unable to locate Jacob. Moneus was reportedly apprehended by police early on Sunday morning in Indianapolis and questioned.
According to the complaint, he initially told detectives that he had no idea where his son was, but later claimed the boy was well. Additionally, Moneus allegedly acknowledged using a tool from his car to strike his wife “two or three times.”
