First Lady Jill Biden Makes Heartfelt Nashville Visit for Candlelight Vigil

Washington — First lady, Dr. Jill Biden, will go to Nashville on Wednesday evening to honor the six people who died in the shooting at the Covenant School earlier this week. The vigil will be held with candles.

During a press briefing at the White House, Karine Jean-Pierre, the press secretary, said that Biden would be there. She will go to Nashville after the first lady meets with military families in Greene County, Ohio, as part of her Joining Forces initiative.

“As you’ve heard the president say all week, we’re still asking Congress to pass a ban on assault weapons and do more to make our kids and communities safer,” Jean-Pierre told reporters.
