TALLAHASSEE – The Toll Relief Program got underway on the first of the year 2023. As a direct result of the initiative, Floridians who commute to work continue to enjoy considerable savings even though we are now in the fourth month of applying credits to customer accounts.
More than 1.2 million Floridians have benefited from the Toll Relief credits that have been awarded, which total more than $150 million since the program’s launch in January. During the month of April, a total of $37.7 million in account credits were applied to one million different customer accounts.
The year-long program automatically applies a toll credit of fifty percent to the accounts of frequent users who accumulate at least thirty-five monthly toll transactions. The SunPass Savings initiative, which ended in December after a successful run and helped 384,000 drivers save a combined total of over $18 million, serves as the foundation for the Toll Relief initiative.
“Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise provides different routes for Florida commuters that may save them time on their drive, and with this program, they are saving money too,” said Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise Executive Director and CEO Nicola Liquori.
“Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise provides different routes for Florida commuters,” “We are happy to be in a position to provide significant cost reductions to our customers, which they are free to put toward offsetting the rising prices of other necessities,”
The Toll Relief Program gives drivers still another opportunity to cut costs, in addition to the savings of 25% that are already provided to SunPass members. The program is scheduled to end on December 31, 2023, and it is anticipated that over 1.2 million drivers would be able to save nearly $500 a year as a result of participating in it.
The Toll Relief Program is administered by the Florida Turnpike Enterprise, which also oversees SunPass and a number of other Florida-based tolling agency partners located around the state.
Customers are strongly recommended to check their accounts and confirm that their transponders are correctly installed in their vehicles and that they have sufficient funds in their accounts.
