"Four People Injured in Miami-dade Police Department Collision"

MIAMI — An officer with the Miami-Dade Police Department was brought to a nearby hospital following an accident that occurred Monday afternoon between the officer’s cruiser and a vehicle that was tied to a predawn carjacking, according to the police. Three suspects have been taken into custody as a result of the incident.

According to a representative for the Miami-Dade Police Department, one of the suspects was brought to a hospital for treatment, while an unnamed officer from the Miami-Dade Police Department was transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital for examination.

The collision took place shortly after 17:30 in the northwest section of Miami-Dade County, near the intersection of NW 25th Avenue and 62nd Street.

A live camera feed from the site showed three automobiles parked in a lot together with a truck that was lying on its side after rolling over.

The front end of the police cruiser had sustained significant damage, and the front end was very close to being completely destroyed.

The police have informed CBS News Miami that authorities noticed a vehicle that was associated with a carjacking that took place about 4 in the morning.

The victim of the carjacking told CBS News Miami that he was filling up his gas tank in Miami Gardens when three males approached him and threatened to kill him. They then stole his vehicle and drove off.

They instructed me to get on the floor and not even look at them because if I did, they would shoot me and kill me. If I disobeyed their orders, they would murder me. They snatched some money from me and went off, but I still have the keys.

“They opened fire, and everyone in the neighborhood ran away. I saw that they were pushing my keys. They were able to see my flashing vehicle lights, so they hopped in my car, and then simply stole it.

CBS News Miami was told by the police that the cops began pursuing the automobile after seeing it and realizing it was involved in the carjacking. During the course of the pursuit, the suspects allegedly brandished a long rifle in the direction of the cops many times.

According to the authorities, all three of the suspects are currently hospitalized and in severe condition. The victim reports that he is not feeling well at this time. He claims the experience has left him emotionally scarred.

The cop who was engaged in the collision was sent to the hospital for treatment of a concussion but was eventually discharged from the facility.

The suspects were responsible for the accident with the Miami-Dade officer because they ran a red light at the intersection of NW 25th Avenue and 62nd Street, which caused them to smash into the law enforcement vehicle.

The identities of the three individuals who are now facing prosecution have not been revealed by the police.
