As firefighters battled a grass fire close to Cal Expo on Sunday afternoon in Sacramento, Business 80 was closed.
According to the Sacramento Fire Department, the fire has scorched approximately three acres, extending all the way to the freeway.
According to Justin Sylvia, the public relations officer for the fire department, extremely dense vegetation made it challenging for workers to get engines and hoses to the fire.
According to Sylvia, the black smoke that passersby may have observed came from burning homeless camps in addition to burning grass and other vegetation.
According to Sylvia, there are persons of interest inside the homeless camp, which is why investigators have been sent in. While attempting to ascertain whether the fire was caused accidently or on purpose, the investigators will also interview witnesses.

Water droplets were visible on the water created by helicopters. Because of the difficulty in reaching the fire and the absence of fire hydrants in the vicinity, Sylvia claimed that the helicopter was helpful.
At 4:45 p.m., traffic on Business 80 came to a stop for southbound traffic at Exposition Boulevard and for northbound traffic at the American River bridge. After thirty minutes or so, traffic started moving in both directions.
There have been no reported injuries.
