The Sanford police are seeking assistance from the public in apprehending a suspect involved in a fatal shooting at a local apartment complex on Sunday evening, which claimed the life of a teenager.

Around 6 p.m. on Sunday, Sanford police responded to a 911 call reporting a shooting at the Stratford Pointe Apartments on Old England Loop.

Upon arrival, they discovered 16-year-old Jamarcus Parker suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Parker was rushed to a nearby hospital but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.

According to investigators, Parker was socializing with a group of friends in the apartment complex parking lot before the incident occurred.

While Sanford homicide investigators have located the vehicle and identified its owner, no arrests have been made at this time.

The police emphasize that their investigation into the shooting remains active and ongoing, and they urge anyone with information to contact the police department at 407-688-5070.
