On Wednesday night, officials reported that three individuals were shot in Riverview. The incident took place in the 10000 block of Sweet Sapling Street, as stated by deputies. Two adult women and one man were transported to a hospital due to injuries to their “lower extremities.”
Fortunately, all three individuals are expected to recover. According to family members, the victims of the shooting were 18, 20, and 22 years old.
The victims’ aunt Saphenya Green added, “My grandkids were out there as well. To come home from work, it’s devastating for anyone to have to go through this. It’s heartbreaking.”
Green mentioned that there was a disagreement that escalated. Afterward, the shooter fired into a gathering of children.
A neighbor named Natalia Kirkland stated, “Everyone started running, and I froze because I couldn’t believe that was happening.”
No suspects are currently in custody, as per officials. A vehicle believed to be connected to the incident was observed leaving the vicinity. However, deputies are withholding its description at this time, citing safety concerns.
“He ran to his truck,” Green said. “Kids were out there. And shot in my sister’s house constantly. He didn’t care at all.”
As Green’s family recuperates in the hospital, their lives undergo a lasting transformation.
“It’s devastating for anyone to have to go through this,” she said. “There were a lot of kids out here. It’s heartbreaking.”
