A 30-year-old Hawaiian woman missed a connecting flight, sent strange texts, and then stopped talking, according to her family, who are now looking for her in Los Angeles.

Aunt Larie Pidgeon stated in an interview that Hannah Kobayashi landed in Los Angeles on November 8 on her way to New York City, but she missed a connecting connection because she had only 30 to 45 minutes to get to the departure port.

According to family members, Kobayashi, a native of Maui, spent her time in Los Angeles sightseeing while she waited for a last-minute trip to New York. On November 10, they alleged, she attended a Nike marketing event in The Grove shopping mall in the Beverly Grove district, which is around 12 miles north of Los Angeles International Airport.

Kobayashi uploaded a picture of a Nike notice of filming, which appears to be at or close to The Grove, on her Instagram account. According to family members, she texted loved ones with alarming content the following day.

“Hannah’s last message to us was alarming — she mentioned feeling scared, and that someone might be trying to steal her money and identity,” Pidgeon stated on Facebook.

Pidgeon texted confirmation that her Facebook handle was Larie Ingrum. Three family, including her, recently participated in an interview on Kobayashi.

In the past few days, a greater number of family members and loved ones have arrived in Los Angeles to begin a search. Kobayashi, an art enthusiast and budding photographer, saved for the trip to New York City and was thrilled before departing Honolulu on November 8, according to Pidgeon.

According to Pidgeon, she intended to visit the Museum of Modern Art and take in Manhattan’s art scene as part of her endeavor to launch a career.

“She was really trying to school herself on how to become ‘it’ in New York,” she stated.

Although the Los Angeles Police Department stated that it is the main investigating agency in the case, relatives have stated that they reported Kobayashi missing to both the FBI and the Los Angeles International Airport Police Department.

According to LAPD spokesman Officer Tony Im, Kobayashi was reported missing to the agency on Friday. According to Pidgeon, communications delivered on November 11 were concerning and occasionally lacked Kobayashi’s voice.

According to a video report from a local news outlet, family members cited one of the texts: “I got tricked pretty much into giving away all my funds for someone I thought I loved.”

According to Pidgeon, the books outline what is essentially identity theft. According to her, Kobayashi seemed to be at Los Angeles International Airport at the time. According to Pidgeon, Kobayashi attempted to contact another aunt, Geordan Montalvo, whom he was scheduled to see in New York.

“Her phone pinged at LAX at 4 p.m. and then after that, Geordan kept trying to talk to her, and then it went dark. Her phone went dead, and her communication cut off completely,” Pidgeon stated.

The last family members heard from her were the SMS sent on November 11.

A post by the RAD Movement, a nonprofit organization that works to find missing people in San Diego County, California, on a Facebook group called Help Us Find Hanna, which includes family members, claims that security footage in the downtown Los Angeles area of Pico Boulevard and Hill Street shows Kobayashi with someone and has raised concerns.

Family members stated that they were unable to discuss it in depth because they did not want to obstruct investigators. The video’s recording date is unclear. According to Pidgeon, the footage gives cause to think Kobayashi “is not OK.”

According to family, Kobayashi traveled to New York with a lover she has since split with. They claimed that the unnamed man connected to New York City and was on the same flight to Los Angeles, but he had no communication with Kobayashi. They said that he was very helpful.

According to family friends, the group assembled in Los Angeles is concentrating its own search on the intersection of Hill Street and Pico Boulevard, close to the Convention Center, LA Live, and Crypto Arena.

Among them is Father Ryan Kobayashi.

“Everything is just a blur it seems, because I haven’t slept well since I’ve heard the news, and I really don’t know … it’s just really concerning,” he stated.
