Two men from Miami went on an outrageous buying binge that would make even the most devoted Black Friday shopper blush, in a story as Floridian as an alligator wrestling a python.

Their mad dash through the state’s big-box stores came to an abrupt end in Collier County, where they left a trail of pilfered fishing supplies, razor blades, and enough deodorant to fill a small tackle store.

Nivaldo J. Garcia-Vento, 41, and Carlos M. Garcia-Ajete, 40, seemed to have the go-ahead to help themselves to everything that struck their attention.

The pair, allegedly part of a well-organized retail theft ring, targeted Publix, Walmart, CVS, Walgreens, and Winn-Dixie with the dexterity of an experienced coupon clipper, according to Collier County Deputies.

“The theft spree stops here, thanks to the outstanding efforts of our hardworking deputies and detectives,” Sheriff Kevin Rambosk stated. “These individuals will now be held accountable for their criminal actions, not only in Collier County but other jurisdictions as well.”

Sheriff Rambosk brought attention to how these crimes affect people’s financial situation. “Retail theft is a serious problem in Florida,” he stated. “It drives up the cost of goods, and we all suffer through higher prices.”

Therefore, you may have these two guys to thank the next time you complain about the price of deodorant.

After a short foot chase and a traffic stop, the dynamic duo’s adventure came to an end. Maybe feeling like an Olympian, Garcia-Ajete made a risky getaway attempt but was soon caught. Their SUV also had a device to disable store security tags, making it a genuine treasure mine of pilfered goods. There was no mistaking that these guys were serious.

400 deodorant sticks, razor blades, fishing gear, cosmetics, and other approximately $5,000-worth of goods were among the inventory.

There are currently numerous felonies against Garcia-Vento and Garcia-Ajete, including grand theft. Even though their buying binge may have ended, their legal issues are far from done.
