In the most recent lottery drawing, the largest winner in the state was a Powerball ticket sold in Lake Elsinore, but it almost missed out on the grand prize.
Despite hitting five of the five lottery numbers, the ticket, which was sold at a Chevron station on the 25300 block of Railroad Canyon Road, missed the Powerball, which would have awarded the owner the $437 million grand prize.
Nevertheless, the fortunate ticket holder will be eligible to receive the second prize, which is close to $250,000. In Saturday’s Powerball drawing, the Lake Elsinore ticket was the only one in the state to hit all five of the main numbers.
7, 16, 19, 45, 64, and the Powerball number of 25 were the winning numbers.
Using a ticket that was bought in Pennsylvania, another player matched five out of five numbers, with the exception of the Powerball.
The highest Powerball prize of the week will be awarded to the winner, who will have 180 days to collect it. A person who wins the ultimate jackpot will have a full year to organize their affairs before coming forward.
