Jacksonville Sheriff T. K. Waters has announced that after a two-month-long investigation called Operation Bright Lights, the leader of the K4T gang and seven of its members have been arrested. The operation was conducted with the help of the State Attorneyās Office, DEA, and ATF.
The target of the operation was Brian Brightman, the leader of K4T, whose gang has been involved in repeated acts of violence across Jacksonville, including multiple homicides. The group was also involved in narcotics trafficking and has been responsible for moving large quantities of meth, cocaine, and fentanyl throughout the city.
Sheriff Waters stated that the purpose of the operation was to cut off the organization at the head, and JSO has successfully achieved that. During the operation, officers seized eight firearms, 1.171 kilograms of fentanyl, 570 grams of meth, 467 grams of cocaine, 203 pounds of marijuana, $80,000 in cash, and two vehicles used in drug trafficking.
One of the guns seized during the operation matched the casings from a 2021 homicide.
