Jade Carey and Hezly Rivera are beaming after Team USA’s exciting gold-medal comeback in Tuesday’s team final.

“It just feels so incredible. I’m super excited and super proud of this team and everything that we’ve overcome to get back here on top of the podium again,” Carey stated.

Carey performed a fantastic vault in front of a star-studded audience on Sunday despite feeling under the weather prior to the qualifiers, which helped propel her team to victory in the championship.

“A lot of pressure on that one vault, but I knew that if I was just my normal self that I would get the job done,” Carey stated.

After her performance, Suni Lee gave a breathtaking bar routine, and Simone Biles, unsurprisingly, gave a phenomenal floor routine. Jordan Chiles had a great game as well.

The 16-year-old team member Hezly Rivera, who did not participate in the team final, felt both satisfaction and amazement at being able to compete with Biles.

Being on the same squad as Simone, I never imagined that would occur. Photos of Biles visiting Rivera’s gym as a child made Rivera say, “I’ve always looked up to her.”

With eight Olympic medals, Biles made history on Tuesday by becoming the most decorated gymnast. After the win, Biles wrote on X that the team’s official moniker was the “Golden Girls,” a reference to both the team’s triumph and the advanced age of a few of its members.

Rivera and Carey declared the name “perfect.”

The two will support Biles and Lee on Thursday during the all-around competition. On Saturday, Carey will participate in the solo vault competition.
