Allegations have been made against the proprietor of a North Texas adoption firm, who allegedly paid pregnant female inmates of the Tarrant County Jail to offer their unborn children for adoption.
After being arrested and taken into custody last week in Central Texas, the director of Adoptions International Inc. paid a $50,000 bond. Attorney Jody Hall founded an adoption agency that is marketed as a recognized charity organization.
The Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office claims that it started investigating Hall’s alleged unethical adoption procedures back in May.
“During this investigation, information was discovered that Jody Hall was paying money to multiple, pregnant Tarrant County inmates for the purpose of placing their unborn children up for adoption with Hall’s agency,” the sheriff’s office stated.
Sheriff’s detectives obtained arrest warrants for Hall and had them served at her Kyle, Texas, home two months later.
Adoptions International’s accreditation was revoked by the U.S. State Department in 2019 due to noncompliance with rules, thereby prohibiting the organization from conducting adoptions abroad.

Selling or buying a child is considered a criminal in the state of Texas. Whether any of the convicts in the Tarrant County jail actually received money or placed their baby for adoption is unknown as of right now.
