According to records, a guy is accused of shooting a security guard while robbing a shop of groceries, among other offenses, including attempted murder.
Following a complaint of a shooting on Saturday, July 20 at approximately 1:00 p.m., police were summoned to a supermarket in the 800 block of North Decatur Boulevard close to Washington Avenue.
Officers arrived to discover a security guard with a gunshot wound to the head. The victim was taken by medical staff to a neighboring hospital, where his status was last reported as critical. According to an arrest report, police are unsure about the victim’s prognosis and whether he will live to a satisfactory age if he does.
Police were informed by witnesses at the site that a man entered the supermarket, loaded up a shopping cart with groceries, and walked out without making a purchase. The security guard was going outside to confront the individual who was loading the stolen goods into a car when store employees warned him, according to the report.
A second person got out of the car and brandished a gun at the security guard during an argument between him and the man. The security guard used pepper spray to defend himself.
According to the complaint, the suspect fired several shots at the security guard, striking him in the chin and perhaps lodging in his neck. After then, the two men got into the car and left the area.
Police identified the registered owner of the suspected car through witness accounts, and they were informed that their 36-year-old son, Miguel Narro, was the last person to drive the vehicle.
Narro fit one of the suspects’ descriptions provided by witnesses. According to the report, a records check revealed that Narro had previously been arrested for severe criminal offenses, including attempted murder.
Corrections officials observed two individuals in the house arrest offender’s backyard the next day while performing a home compliance check; one of the guys was making an effort to scale the fence, according to the report.
Corrections officers often check on house arrest offenders by asking for the men’s name, date of birth, and social security number. This is because they are not allowed to associate with known felons or ex-felons who are not members of their immediate family. Narro, one of the men, introduced himself. Officers apprehended Narro because he had an outstanding warrant for his arrest.
Police discovered the suspected vehicle from the incident while investigating Narro’s residence. According to the report, the vehicle still had dry pepper spray on it, which resulted in irritation to the eyes, noses, and throats of crime scene analysts and a detective.

Narro reported to the police that he had spent the entire day searching for his car because he thought it had been stolen somewhere in the early hours of July 20. He told authorities that the car in the shooting was not the one he drove after seeing the CCTV footage of it.
The police informed Narro that they had located the car at his house, and that’s when the interrogation concluded and he sought for a lawyer.
Narro was arrested by police and taken to the Clark County Detention Center. There, he is charged with attempted murder using a deadly weapon, gun ownership or possession by an unauthorized person, robbery using a deadly weapon, battery using a deadly weapon, and firing a gun into an occupied building or vehicle.
There is no bail set for Narro. Wednesday, July 31 is when he is expected to appear in court again.
