Orange and San Bernardino county California Lottery Scratchers winners took home $5 million apiece, but one even greater winner struck it lucky a bit further south, taking home $10 million amid an amazing run of good fortune.
The lucky ticket that the Orange County winner won was bought from a CVS on North Main Street in Santa Ana. On a 100X Scratchers ticket, Miguel Tellez found out he had won the $5 million, according to the California Lottery website.
Calvin Smith struck it rich in San Bernardino County when he purchased a $5 million California State Riches Scratchers ticket at Joe’s Market in Victorville.
However, Bradley Bullock doubled those winnings with the $10 million Scratchers card he purchased at the Prospect Avenue 7-Eleven in Santee, California, in San Diego County.
According to Lottery authorities, Bullock reportedly purchased the ticket the morning following his $2,000 slot machine win at a nearby casino.
“I was able to sleep in a little because I didn’t have to work, but I needed a little caffeine pick-me-up, so I got an energy drink and a couple of Scratchers,” Bullock stated.
He won the top prize in a Royal Riches game that was one of those tickets.
“I knew I’d won before I even scratched it because I scanned the barcode with the Lottery app,” Bullock stated. “So, I scratched to see if it was real!”

Bullock claimed that he and a friend returned to the casino the next day and won an additional $29,000. It was “three days of wild luck,” as he put it.
Bullock made the decision to accept the $5.8 million lump sum cash award, according to lottery officials.
