After no one matched all six numbers in Saturday night’s $147 million Powerball drawing, the jackpot will roll over on Monday, April 3.
For Monday night’s drawing, the jackpot will now be worth about $159 million (or $84.5 million in cash).
The following are the results of Saturday’s Powerball game:
- NUMBERS: 11-19-21-29-52
- POWERBALL: 17
- POWER PLAY: 4x
After a player in Virginia won $162.6 million in the March 4 Powerball drawing, the jackpot was reset to $20 million. The official Powerball website says that on November 7, a player in California matched all six numbers to win the $2.04 billion ($997.6 million) jackpot. This was the largest jackpot in the history of U.S. lotteries.
The Powerball drawing on January 13, 2016, for $1.586 billion ($983.5 million cash value) set the previous record for the world’s largest jackpot for both cash value and annuity.
In January 2016, three tickets from California, Florida, and Tennessee won the $1.586 billion Powerball jackpot. This was the world’s largest jackpot (in terms of cash value and future payments) and the ninth-largest cash value per ticket. Four times, Mega Millions games have brought in more than $1 billion.
Before January 2021, the jackpots for Powerball and Mega Millions added up to more than $1.7 billion.
Both jackpots get bigger with each game that follows until a ticket is sold that matches all six numbers are drawn, plus the Mega Millions Gold Ball or Powerball in each game.
