Man Arrested for Assault and Robbery in Orange County Latest Updates!

A man has been arrested and is currently in custody in Orange County for breaking into a residence’s back porch and assaulting the homeowner and others present using branch cutters.

According to authorities, Lyndell Demps was apprehended after unlawfully entering a home on Mallard Pond Court at approximately 2 a.m. on June 15.

Upon entering the back porch of the residence, Demps confronted the homeowner. Police reported that he proceeded to assault the homeowner, striking him in the head with the branch cutters.

Subsequently, Demps entered the house, attacked additional occupants, and proceeded to steal cell phones and money before fleeing the scene, as stated by the deputies.

The Orlando Police Department shared a photograph on social media, depicting Demps brandishing the branch cutters above his head, with the apparent intent of targeting others present in the house.

Detectives from the Orlando Police Department later observed a man matching Demps’ description in conversation with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, as per the news release.

Based on the available information, Demps is currently facing charges that include Attempted Murder, Home Invasion Robbery, Kidnapping, and other felony offenses.

During his initial court appearance on Saturday, a judge ordered him to be held without bond.

This incident has left several neighbors in the vicinity shaken, as the victims have resided in that home for many years, according to some residents interviewed by Channel 9.
