The Florida Highway Patrol closed several lanes on Interstate-4 in Seminole County after a Sunday morning crash.
Around 7 a.m., a Kia Optima sedan and a Honda HR-V SUV collided in the westbound lanes, ending up near the Central Parkway bridge in Altamonte Springs.
First responders took four individuals to local hospitals. They included the 26-year-old driver of the Honda and his 52-year-old male passenger, both from Maitland, as well as the 30-year-old driver of the Kia and her 22-year-old male passenger, both from Orlando.
Traffic was congested on a section of I-4 for approximately five hours as troopers investigated the incident.
By late morning, all roadblocks in the area were cleared.
The FHP did not provide updates on the conditions of those involved in the crash, but the Seminole County Fire Department reported that three adults were taken to a local trauma center.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
