Man Arrested for Stealing $10,000 Worth of Birds in Lake Worth Beach

LAKE WORTH BEACH, Fla. — A man was arrested on Saturday for allegedly stealing 69 birds valued at over $10,000 from a residence in Lake Worth Beach.

Damian Ramallo, the accused, was taken into custody and booked at Palm Beach County Jail around 4:50 a.m.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO) stated that Ramallo was identified as the individual who burglarized the home and stole various types of birds.

Following media coverage, Ramallo reportedly disposed of some of the birds in the trash, drawing attention to himself. While some of the birds have been recovered, the exact number remains unclear.

According to PBSO’s previous reports, Ramallo stole 20 cockatoos, 10 baby cockatoos, 4 parakeets, 15 canaries, and 20 pigeons.

Ramallo has been charged with larceny and burglary by PBSO. Court records indicate that he is scheduled for his initial court appearance on Monday at 10:00 a.m.
