Man Caught Red-handed Installing Card Skimmer on Atm!

ENGLEWOOD, Fla. – An individual was taken into custody after a card skimmer was discovered on an automated teller machine belonging to the Englewood Synovus Bank.

A member of staff noticed that there was a problem with the ATM the next day, one day after the skimming device was installed. He then contacted a technician, who examined the pool and discovered a yellow strip that indicated a skimming device had been placed.

The first step that the deputies took in their investigation was to review the CCTV footage and locate the car that was present at the ATM while it was being installed.

They came to the conclusion that the license plate was from a rented automobile. It was discovered by the rental firm that Paul Terry was the individual who was allegedly responsible for installing the skimmer.

Because the rental car in question was equipped with a GPS tracker, the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office and the company that provided the rental car were able to work together to locate Paul Terry as he was pulling away from a Synovus bank in Apopka and place him under arrest.
