Authorities report that a guy has been arrested for shooting a couple in their front yard at close range with a shotgun, killing them.
The couple’s residence was visited by deputies from the Northampton County Sheriff’s Office in North Carolina at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Thursday. They discovered a 72-year-old man and his 70-year-old wife dead in their front yard driveway, WBTV reported.
According to authorities, they had both fired at close range with a shotgun. They have not been identified.
After the shooting, Ryvaries Butcher, 35, was identified by police as the culprit and allegedly took the victims’ truck before running away.
On Friday morning at 4:30 a.m., Butcher was taken into custody when the truck was discovered at a hotel.

There is no known motivation for the shooting. According to officials, however, Butcher lived close to the victims’ residence and was a relative of them.
A felony count of stealing of a motor vehicle and two counts of first-degree murder were brought against him. However, Butcher is being detained without bond.
On November 19, Butcher is expected to appear in court again.
