On Thursday, a winning $1 million lottery ticket was claimed from a $10 scratch ticket game; nevertheless, the lottery winner received their winnings without disclosing their identity.
“777,” which was published on September 12, 2023, was the source of the $1 million award. As of September 20, there were still two $1 million prizes and one $4 million grand prize up for grabs in the game.
On September 19, the End of Summer Trust of Quincy, represented by trustee David Spillane, chose to accept the winner’s reward, which is a $650,000 one-time payment before taxes.
Family Convenience, a store at 263 Water St. in Quincy, is where the winning ticket was sold. Selling the winning ticket will result in a $10,000 prize for the shop.
Massachusetts lottery winners are not permitted to claim their winnings in secret, but they are permitted to set up a trust in order to collect their prize without disclosing their identity to the general public.
The winning ticket will be turned in, the check will be collected, and the trustee representative will deposit it into the beneficiary’s bank account.

“Prizes can be claimed by a trust or other legal entities that fulfill the definition of a legal person”, Mark William Bracken, Executive Director of the Massachusetts State Lottery stated.
“The identity of the trustee or legal representative is made public. Over the last several years, we have seen an increase in the number of large prizes claimed by trusts.”
