The 49-year-old lady killed her 51-year-old husband, a firefighter, during an altercation, and the sentencing guidelines were recently revealed by the prosecution.
A news statement from the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office stated that Christine Ricci was found guilty of killing her husband, Michael Ricci, in the second degree and was given a life sentence with the option of release after 20 years.
In addition, she received a penalty that must be served before her life sentence for assault and battery with a deadly weapon, ranging from six years to six years and a day in state prison. On August 2, a jury returned a guilty verdict against Christine Ricci.
When Marshfield Police arrived at a house on Marine Street on January 28, 2021, they discovered Michael Ricci bleeding from stab wounds. After being taken to South Shore Hospital, he was declared dead.
The man allegedly had stab wounds to his upper shoulder and chest, according to the prosecution.
Detectives discovered after additional inquiry that Christine Ricci and her spouse had argued verbally before the defendant took out a knife and fatally stabbed Michael Ricci in the back and heart. At the house, a knife found close to the victim’s corpse was found.
Christine Ricci told that her husband lunged toward her as she grabbed the knife out of terror. She apparently admitted to authorities that she hadn’t realized her husband had been stabbed until he collapsed.

Timothy Cruz, the district attorney for Plymouth County, stated in a statement that, “Michael Ricci Sr. was an Army veteran and proud member of the Boston Fire Department.
