Miami-Dade Road Rage Turns Violent Cuban Rapper Ovi Arrested for Alleged Gun Incident

Following a road rage incident the day before in which he brandished a gun, state troopers arrested Cuban rapper Ovi on Tuesday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Following the incident, Ovi, whose actual name is Ovidio Crespo-Retureta, was found in Doral, according to agency officials in a video that was shared on social media. The musician, 28, resides in that city.

In west Miami-Dade, close to Florida International University, the victim was going on Southwest Eighth Street, which runs beneath Florida’s Turnpike, when the incident occurred just after 12:45 p.m. on Monday, according to an arrest report.

The FHP claims that after Crespo-Retureta cut off another driver in his McLaren, the rapper retaliated by waving a revolver out the supercar’s window when the other driver honked.

After then, according to the authorities, Crespo-Retureta drew up next to the victim and pointed the revolver right at him. The victim allegedly recorded the incident on camera.

After it, the singer entered the Turnpike. According to the investigation, the victim recognized Crespo-Retureta’s car and used Instagram to identify him.

According to troopers, they apprehended Crespo-Retureta after discovering him operating a Lamborghini SUV in Doral. They claimed to have discovered two generic Percocet pills in his car and a SIG Sauer weapon on his waistline.

The police report states that during the outburst of wrath, Crespo-Retureta was being followed by a black Lamborghini.

He was charged with aggravated assault with a handgun, improper firearm exhibition, and possession of a controlled substance on Wednesday morning after a judge determined there was probable cause.

According to jail records, Crespo-Retureta was being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center as of late Wednesday morning on a $6,500 bond.
