There were terrifying moments at a daycare in North Alabama when one of the cars in a collision with multiple others crashed through the facility. Everything took place at the intersection of McKee Road and Jeff Road on Tuesday. Six people were verified hurt in the collision by first responders. Inside the daycare, no injuries were reported.
Barbara Jones, the owner of the daycare told on Wednesday that she was phoned by her daughter, who also works there, and instructed her to come immediately.
She claimed that she was worried about the safety of the 50 employees and kids inside the building when she pulled up, but she was happy to learn that everyone was fine.
Then she informed parents right away. Every child was taken to the playground. According to Jones, they had seen wrecks at this intersection before. “I hope this is a wake-up call for change,” she says.

“I’ve seen a lot of accidents; some are just little fender benders, but we’ve seen two or three that were major accidents where the drivers and passengers in the car had to go and be hospitalized,” Jones stated. “So they need a light at this corner because a stop sign isn’t doing it, and we need to get something up there so these accidents won’t keep happening, especially after what just happened to us yesterday.”
According to Jones, the daycare will not reopen until the building is deemed safe. The duration of that is uncertain. For the time being, Jones added, they provided parents with other daycare options.
