WPBN: A family member has reported that a woman has gone missing, and the police are currently searching for her.
On December 11, the Crawfordsville Police Department in Indiana issued a statement in which they requested the assistance of the general public in regards to the search for Lindsey Cox, who is 28 years old.
According to the police, it is suspected that Cox is associated with her partner, John Byrer, as well as their child who is seven months old. According to the police, Cox was reported missing on December 2nd.
She was contacted by law enforcement officers on the same day, and their information was entered into both state and national databases. As a result of the fact that they were able to establish communication with Cox’s family, the missing person designation was removed from their records.
Police were informed by members of the family that they continued to be concerned about Cox and her child. John Byrer, who is Cox’s boyfriend, was recently charged with domestic abuse and battery by strangulation, child theft, and larceny from a person in Broken Arrow.
These charges had been brought against him in October. The victim was identified as Cox in the affidavit that was submitted.
A’missing person’ status was assigned to her by the Chicago Police Department on December 7th. According to the investigators, Cox was last seen in the northern part of Indiana.
Based on the evidence that the police department has gathered, they have reason to suspect that Cox, Byrer, and their child are no longer in the state of Indiana.
According to the police, Cox made repeated attempts to get in touch with law enforcement, the most recent of which was on December 10 when she purportedly had a conversation with a law enforcement officer.
During the course of this chat, the police stated that she was urged to visit a local police station in order to undergo a wellness check.
As the Crawfordsville Police Department has gained access to new information, they have maintained consistent communication with officials from other departments. In addition, they have been serving as a source of information for the family.
The Crawfordsville Police Department has requested that anyone who may have information regarding the whereabouts of Lindsey Cox or her family get in touch with them at the following numbers: 765-307-2634 or the Montgomery County Central Communications Center at 765-362-3300.
As part of their investigation, the Broken Arrow Police Department has stated that they are providing assistance to the Crawfordsville Police Department.
