According to reports, a 39-year-old Oklahoman lady gave her 2-year-old daughter to a man who sold her narcotics, which led to her disappearance more than two years ago.
According to a local news outlet, Ashley Rowland was arrested last week and charged with child abandonment in relation to the disappearance of her daughter, who authorities claim hasn’t been seen since 2022.
The infant was supposed to be taken into custody by Oklahoma Department of Human Services agents in April 2023, but they were unable to find her, according to a report from Kake.
Rowland was found and contacted by the agents in a home in Moore, Oklahoma, approximately 10 miles south of Oklahoma City.
Rowland allegedly told them that the young girl was staying at her father’s house in Georgia when they contacted her.
Authorities claimed that they were later able to identify Rowland’s deception over her daughter’s whereabouts and made contact with the Moore Police Department. Rowland allegedly acknowledged giving her daughter to a man called Carlos in April 2022 during a follow-up interview with detectives.
She added that although she didn’t know for sure, she thought Carlos might be the girl’s biological father.
After entrusting the child to Carlos, who was then selling her methamphetamine, Rowland allegedly claimed that she had not seen the child since. Aside from the fact that she thought the man was going to Mexico and lacked the child’s identifying documents, she was also unable to provide detectives with any other information about him.
According to reports, the youngster would be five years old today, but the police are unsure if she is still in the nation or even if she is dead or alive.

“This is a very active case that we are working diligently on,” the department stated. “All leads are being investigated in relation to the location of the child. If you have any information on this case, please contact the Moore Police Department.”
According to reports, Oklahoma DHS stated that the entire situation was “heartbreaking and unimaginable,” but that the government is unable to comment on specifics of the case.
In lieu of a $3,000 bond, Rowland is presently being held at the Oklahoma County Detention Center.
