A 41-year-old Graceton woman is in critical condition in a Pittsburgh hospital following a domestic disturbance late Saturday on Graceton Village Road in Center Township.
According to state police at Troop A in Indiana, a 14-year-old female was charged with attempted homicide of her mother during the incident.
Trooper Cliff Greenfield, spokesman for Troop A, Indiana, said members of the Troop A, Indiana Patrol Unit were alerted to a reported disagreement at a property along the Center Township street on Saturday at around 10:03 p.m.
Troopers discovered the adolescent was in a domestic dispute with her mother after arriving and conducting an investigation, according to Greenfield. During the dispute, Greenfield continued, the child was discovered to have stabbed her mother several times.
“Responding troopers rendered aid to the juvenile’s mother, who was flown to Allegheny General Hospital and was last reported to be in critical condition,” Greenfield told reporters. “The juvenile was taken into custody without incident and has been charged with criminal attempt — homicide via a written allegation filed with the Indiana County Probation Department.”
Greenfield stated that Trooper First Class Mathias Schmotzer was the investigating officer. Because the event involved a minor, no docket was available on the state courts website late Sunday.
