After beating and killing her blind 3-year-old son and placing his body inside a basement freezer, a 33-year-old mother of six from Michigan will serve several decades in prison.
According to authorities, Azuradee France was sentenced to 35 to 60 years in a state penitentiary on Monday by Wayne County Circuit Court Judge Tracy E. Green for the 2022 killing of little Chayse Allen.
France entered a guilty plea to one count of second-degree murder earlier this month in response to the horrifying death of her son. She is also credited by Greene with having completed 767 days of jail term.
France did not speak during Monday’s session, according to a report from Fox affiliate Detroit. It was alleged that she remained silent during Green’s sentence announcement in the courtroom and covered her face with her hands.
After being detained for the first time in June 2022, France was accused of a number of crimes, including felony murder, child abuse, torture, and hiding a death. Prosecutors dismissed the other counts in exchange for her guilty plea to killing her kid.
On June 24, 2022, at around 12:45 p.m., members of the Detroit Police Department responded to a request for a welfare check on a small kid at a residence in the 12760 block of Monte Vista.
Police reported finding the “remains of a deceased child”—later identified as Chayse—inside a freezer in the home’s basement when they arrived on the scene. France was apprehended and brought to the Wayne County Jail.
France’s home contained “something that no one should have to see,” according to Detroit Police Chief James E. White.
“The other kids, just imagine what they must have gone through and what they must have endured being inside of that home,” the police chief stated. “And yes, a child was decomposing and yes, the child was found in the freezer.”
According to White, during their first interaction with France, the officers sensed something was “not right” about her communication style and her repeated attempts to wave off law enforcement and Child Protective Services “as if nothing was going on.” He said, though, that the cops “knew that something was wrong,” which is what prompted them to investigate the house and find Chayse’s death.

Kym Worthy, the Wayne County prosecutor, was also astounded by the case’s horrific circumstances.
Worthy declared in a press release that followed France’s apprehension, “The alleged facts in this case have astounded even the seriously jaded. Our children continue to be at risk — not just from gun violence but also from the alleged murderer that lives in the house with them.”
France allegedly said that she was afraid the police would take her other children away, which is why she didn’t contact 911. Rather, it is said that she promised the two kids who discovered Chayse’s body that she would “take care of it” and put him in a bag that she carried downstairs and put in the basement freezer.
