Multiple Shots Fired: Woman in Critical Condition After Attack by Longtime Boyfriend near Sanford

Man Loses Life in Domestic Dispute in Southwestern Miami-Dade

A woman in Seminole County was shot late Sunday by her longtime boyfriend, contradicting earlier statements by authorities that implicated her son, according to sheriff’s officials.

The incident occurred at approximately 11 p.m. in the 3600 block of Main Street, near Sanford and not far from Canaan Avenue.

According to an arrest report, witnesses heard 50-year-old Jan Henry Jr. making threats to kill a woman at a residence in the area just before three gunshots were fired.

Witnesses reported seeing Henry leaving the home and walking along Main Street with a firearm in one hand and a lit cigarette in the other.

The Seminole County Sheriff’s Office stated that the woman was shot multiple times and was subsequently taken to a hospital, with her condition now stabilized.

Contrary to initial reports indicating non-life-threatening injuries to her arm, the woman suffered multiple gunshot wounds.

On Monday afternoon, the sheriff’s office confirmed the arrest of Henry Jr., who now faces charges of attempted first-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a felon.

Records show that he was previously convicted of battery against someone aged 65 or older in 2019.

No further details have been disclosed at this time.
